Superiority of Solar Energy Over Fossil Fuels
Posted by admin on Mar 30, 2011
Our present sources of energy cannot serve us well in these times. With pollution, global warming, and the rising cost of fuel, it is quite necessary for us to turn to drastic innovations and alternatives in our technology. Alternative energy sources are in great demand, and possibly the cleanest and most reliable of these alternative sources is solar energy.
Solar energy is simply power which is harnessed from the sun. It is the most popular and most commonly used among the alternative sources of energy. This is because solar energy has many advantages and benefits that make it superior above all other sources of power.
As an energy source, solar energy is virtually inexhaustible and it occurs in very abundant supply on our planet. Compared to this, conventional energy sources like fossil fuels exist in limited supplies; while other alternative sources such as wind and geothermal energy are found only in specific locations or, as wind energy is, come and go unpredictably. Solar energy is also easy to use. Even with the simplest solar panels, one can gather sunlight and either convert it directly into electricity or use it as a heat source. On the other hand, fossil fuels and some alternative sources like biomass require much mining or processing and heavier machinery in order for them to be used.
Solar energy is a clean and efficient power source. Solar panels are a rapidly improving technology and so their capabilities are highly effective for generating power. They do not release pollutants or greenhouse gases, are easy to maintain, and they also do not make noise. By contrast, the burning of fossil fuels and biomass releases air pollutants like carbon dioxide and carcinogens. Engines that burn fossil fuels are also inefficient and difficult to maintain in working order.
Financial benefits and gains come to those who will use solar energy. While fossil fuels are expensive, solar energy is the exact opposite. While there may be a slight cost for the solar panels, using the sun as a power supply means that you no longer need to be connected to the power grid. That is, you can produce electricity on your own without relying on the power and electric companies. This eliminates your power bills in an instant. You can also earn money by selling any excess electric power that your solar panels will generate. The government offers tax incentives and grants to to lower the cost of the panels for people who want to use solar energy.

KNOWING THE SOLAR WIND TURBINE BY BLUENERGY
Posted by admin on Mar 25, 2011
Combining solar energy and wind energy in one complete package will be like apples dipped in chocolate. This has been mad epossible by Bluernergy which is on its way to fuse two of these renewable energies. Basically, the solarwind turbine by bluenergy is a helical wind generator that uses both the energy from the sun and maximizes the use of wind power.
The surface of this device is properly covered with photovoltaic cells which absorb the energy from the sun to be converted to power used to light our homes. Winds at up to 90 mph and the sun shining intensely is what these generators require to gather energy and produce electricity. On the other hand, even at stumpy wind conditions and with the sun declining to shine as much as necessary, these turbines revolve because of Bluenergy’s awe-inspiring design.

Some of the advantages of using this lkind of device are:
· Maximum use of wind and sun energy in one aspect.
· Standardized energy production catering all kinds of weather of the year.
· Soundless device since it is made of a spiral shape making the rotation parallel to the wind speed.
· Works with both gentle summer breezes or violent storms
· Solar cells are parallel-connected producing low losses, and providing secure and reliable electrical connections
· Solar cells are cooled by the rotation, maintaining electrical generation efficiency
· Produces about 50% more electricity than traditional horizontal propeller turbines, higher yield from both low and high wind speeds and from the solar cells
· Cost friendly and economical.
The authenticity of global warming stresses that we insistently pursue farsighted, ground-breaking methods to manufacture clean inexpensive energy while redeveloping our environment’s health. Solar energy and wind power are our most available renewable energy power sources, but still generate less than 5% of the world’s electric power. The use of solar and wind energy is on its way in the market and with discovery and advancement like these, are sure to help out augment the use of renewable sources of energy, making our planet a greener and cleaner position to live in.
Solar “Death Ray”: Power of 5000 suns!

The R5800 is my latest and greatest solar creation. Made from an ordinary fiberglass satellite dish, it is covered in about 5800 3/8″ (~1cm) mirror tiles. When properly aligned, it can generate a spot the size of a dime with an intensity of 5000 times normal daylight. This intensity of light is more than enough to melt steel, vaporize aluminum, boil concrete, turn dirt into lava, and obliterate any organic material in an instant. It stands at 5’9″ and is 42″ across.
Unfortunately, the R5800 was completely destroyed in a storage shed fire on December 14, 2010.

Cheapest Solar Panels and Energy Bill Savings
Posted by admin on Mar 23, 2011
http://www.SolarEnergyGuide.net – Cheap Solar Panels and Energy Bill Savings
For many people, an affordable answer to energy solution needs is to have cheap solar panels installed in their homes. Finding high-quality yet affordable solar panels, however, is a very challenging feat. Fortunately, the Internet provides access to websites and web reviews that will serve as comprehensive buying guide for those concerned.
Before going ahead and discussing the different sources or sellers of solar panels, prospective users have to be convinced of the advantages of using these.
One, these solar cells are cost-effective in the long run because they require very little maintenance from the time they are installed to the time when they will no longer be as functional as they should be. Since these panels do not have moving parts, there is very little need for it to be checked every once in a while.
Second, most lights and appliances that are powered by solar energy are very easy to install. Moreover, there is no need to think about wires when arranging or using them.
Lastly, sunlight is a renewable source of energy. It is more environment-friendly compared to other energy sources since this technology makes use of the rays emitted by the sun to use certain appliances. This, however, is also a disadvantage because this technology can be very useless especially during times when the sun does not show. Nevertheless, as long as the sun exists (and it sure will for a very long time), these panels will be very useful. There are more benefits to using solar energy.
However, there are also disadvantages that come with these. It is up to you to evaluate whether or not having solar panels in your home will benefit you more than they will inconvenience you.
With the popularity of the Internet progressively increasing, it is now possible to look for cheap and affordable solar panels without necessarily leaving one’s home. Generally, consumers can choose to buy used or secondhand panels or new ones. Shopping for these equipment can be tricky, especially for the inexperienced buyer. So, here are tips to help you find just what you are seeking.
1. For new and cheap panels, browse through the store selections available in your country. Many countries offer subsidies to encourage more people to use them.
2. For used solar panels, look at the advertisement in your local newspapers. Hopefully, there are people who are selling theirs.
3. Look up to the solar panels auctioned through online stores like eBay.
While these tips may not be foolproof, they can prove to be very useful especially to those who do not have a previous experience in shopping for cheap solar panels.

Now that liberals are against nuclear power & solar and wind power are not feasible on a large scale what now?
Posted by admin on Mar 22, 2011
They are against coal too.
evon: Do you realize that solar panel is only enough to light up one 60 watt light bulb? Thats a drop in the bucket compared to whats needed.
NeoNerd: All of the prime hydroelectric sites have been put to use years ago. They are taking many of them out now because they cause sediment to back up behind dams and damage habitat for fish.
They will continue to lie about the potential of wind and solar power. Meanwhile the price of oil and gas will go up. The liberals will continue doing the ruling class dirty work even if they don’t know it.
How to Build Your Own Solar Water Heater
Posted by admin on Mar 21, 2011
Solar water heaters are one among the various applications of solar energy in use today. Commercially produced and prefabricated models are available in the market, but still they cost some money. For those who want to save some cash and who have technical and construction know-how, it is more appealing to build their own solar heater system from scratch and hardware parts.
With the right construction skills and knowledge, you can build a solar water heater with simple and not-too-costly parts. Basically, a solar water heater consists of: a collector that gathers the sun’s energy, a plumbing system that allows the water to be heated by the panels, a water tank that holds the heated water, and in some cases, a storage for excess heat reserved for later use. In many DIY models, the storage for excess heat is not included unless you know where to procure one and how to connect it to your system.
First, let us try to construct the collector. The kind of collecting panel for a solar heater should be highly absorbent of heat energy from the sun. Thin, black, plastic boards or metal plates serve this purpose. The collector is placed upon framing with support on the rooftop or backyard, where an ample supply of sunlight is sure to be found. A layer of plexiglass on the panel will create a “greenhouse effect” and trap any energy collected. Flat type panels are ideal to get evenly distributed amounts of heat.

Next is the plumbing system. Hoses used for conventional heaters can be used for this purpose. Do not use rubber or plastic hoses as they are insulators and not conductors of heat. They are connected behind the black part of the collectors in a coiled manner so as to absorb the heat energy coming from the panels. It is recommended that this be connected to your domestic pumping system, or else it must have its own electric pump so as to ensure a steady supply of water to be heated. You can employ conventional storage tanks with proper insulation for holding your warmed up water.
A simple DIY solar water heater can cost about 50 dollars or more and will take you 3 to 5 hours to assemble. Simple screws, epoxy, duct tape, and metal clamps can be employed in putting the parts together. If you have greater technical know-how, you can enhance your unit with storage units and more efficient panels. The one advantage of the DIY units is that they are limited or made great by the capability of the assembler.
